Couplings between generalized gauge fields
We analyze the BRST field-antifield construction for generalized gauge fields consisting of massless mixed representations of the Lorentz Group and we calculate all the strictly gauge invariant interactions between them. All these interactions are higher derivative terms constructed out from the derivatives of the curl of field strength. PACS: 2.20.-a, 11.15.-q, 11.10.Kk, 11.25.-w
متن کاملGeneralized Yukawa couplings and Matrix Models
In this note we investigate U(N) gauge theories with matter in the fundamental and adjoint representations of the gauge group, interacting via generalized Yukawa terms of the form Tr [QΦQ̃]. We find agreement between the matrix model and the gauge theory descriptions of these theories. The analysis leads to a partial description of the Higgs branch of the gauge theory. We argue that the transiti...
متن کاملConcentration of measures via size biased couplings
Let Y be a nonnegative random variable with mean μ and finite positive variance σ, and let Y , defined on the same space as Y , have the Y size biased distribution, that is, the distribution characterized by E[Y f(Y )] = μEf(Y s) for all functions f for which these expectations exist. Under a variety of conditions on the coupling of Y and Y , including combinations of boundedness and monotonici...
متن کاملGeneralized Curvature-Matter Couplings in Modified Gravity
In this work, we review a plethora of modified theories of gravity with generalized curvature-matter couplings. The explicit nonminimal couplings, for instance, between an arbitrary function of the scalar curvature R and the Lagrangian density of matter, induces a non-vanishing covariant derivative of the energy-momentum tensor, implying non-geodesic motion and, consequently, leads to the appea...
متن کاملStationary flows and uniqueness of invariant measures
In this short paper, we consider a quadruple (Ω,A , θ, μ), where A is a σ-algebra of subsets of Ω, and θ is a measurable bijection from Ω into itself that preserves the measure μ. For each B ∈ A , we consider the measure μB obtained by taking cycles (excursions) of iterates of θ from B. We then derive a relation for μB that involves the forward and backward hitting times of B by the trajectory ...
